Low Carb Breakfast
Cutting Carbs?
Many people are looking for ways to eat less carbs. However, carbs provide us with energy for the body and brain, and the secret to a healthy carb intake is to choose the right types. Our dietitians tell us that the right carb foods mixed with a bit of protein or healthy fat helps to achieve good balance in a meal.
Smart Carbs
You don’t have to sacrifice your favourite foods in a bid to cut the carbs. The secret to enjoying the health benefits is to choose the right types. Science tells us that whole grains are very protective – so we still need to include them to stay healthy. Choosing high fibre and whole grain foods to start with will make sure you are choosing right. Breakfast cereals such as Sultana Bran®, All Bran®, Guardian® and Special K® mixed with milk or a high protein yoghurt and some delicious berries is the perfect way to enjoy healthy carbs at breakfast.
